Stranger Things Season 3 Date Announced During Interrupted New Year’s Eve Broadcast

One of the best things about the Netflix Scifi series Stranger Things is it’s attention to detail. Stranger Things is set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins Indiana and to the delight of fans around the world, the premiere date for the third season of Stranger Things was revealed in an awesome way! The ST social media accounts went live just before midnight on the east coast. Fans were treated to a mock “live” broadcast of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve from 1985. However, there was continued interference during the big countdown to the new year. Which ultimately revealed that Stranger Things season 3 will drop on July 4.

This is great news for fans of the show who were told that they wouldn’t see the new season until later in 2019. It is believed that the choice to delay the release was partly due to the attention to detail.
