Lionsgate and Kingdom Story have announced that their upcoming family film, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” will now be released on November 8th, a week earlier than the previously scheduled November 15th release date. The move is intended to give the movie more time to capture audiences during the competitive holiday season.
Directed by Dallas Jenkins, who also co-adapted the screenplay, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” is based on Barbara Robinson’s classic book of the same name. The screenplay was written by Jenkins along with Darin McDaniel, Platte Clark, and Ryan Swanson.
The movie features an outstanding ensemble cast that includes Judy Greer, Pete Holmes, Elizabeth Tabish, and Lauren Graham. The plot revolves around the Herdmans, a group of children who are notoriously known as “the worst kids in the history of the world.” In a surprising twist of fate, the Herdmans take charge of their local church’s Christmas pageant, which could possibly teach the bewildered community the true essence of the holiday season.
With its heartwarming premise and a talented ensemble cast, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” aims to capture the spirit of beloved holiday classics like “A Christmas Story.” The decision to move the release date forward demonstrates Lionsgate and Kingdom Story’s confidence in the film’s ability to connect with audiences during the festive period.
