Rising star Mckenna Grace, known for her roles in “I, Tonya,” “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and the recent “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” has landed the lead role in the upcoming young adult film “Everything I Never Did.” The movie, written by screenwriters D.J. McPherson and Scott Taylor, will be directed by Australian filmmaker Jeremy Sims, best known for his work on “Last Cab to Darwin.”
“Everything I Never Did” is set to be produced by Spencer McLaren of Aspect Entertainment, alongside McPherson and Jack Christian under their newly-launched production banner Filmology Features. The producers describe the film as “a bittersweet love story that throws away cliches and sparks with originality, spontaneity, and surprise.”
The story follows Liam Black, a troubled teen, and Jenna Reid, played by Grace, a seriously ill girl. Together, they embark on a transformative journey of living and loving in the face of adversity. McPherson expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “We are thrilled to finally announce ‘Everything I Never Did.’ It’s a project that is very close to our hearts, and we’re ecstatic to have Mckenna Grace leading our cast. Her profound ability to connect with complex roles will breathe life into this poignant narrative.”
Further casting details, as well as distribution and international sales roles, have yet to be announced. Despite Grace’s busy schedule, production on “Everything I Never Did” is expected to begin later in 2024. Grace has several projects in the works, including Mandalay Pictures’ “Straight Lines,” Lionsgate’s “Anniversary,” and Hungry Bull Productions’ “Spider & Jessie,” with Grace also serving as an executive producer on the latter two.
Additionally, Grace is set to produce and star in Amazon MGM Studios’ “Rabbit Cake” and is cast in Searchlight Pictures’ “Perfect” and Alloy Entertainment’s “99 Days,” both of which are currently in development. With her undeniable talent and growing list of impressive projects, Mckenna Grace continues to establish herself as one of the most promising young actors in Hollywood.
