Netflix Teases Upcoming ‘Fear Street: Prom Queen’ with First-Look Footage

Netflix has just released a sneak peek at the latest addition to the Fear Street franchise, Fear Street: Prom Queen. Set in the 1980s, this new installment takes us back to the terror-filled halls of Shadyside High.

Prom Night at Shadyside High

Fear Street: Prom Queen centers around the prom season at Shadyside High. As the popular girls vie for the crown, their campaigns take a sinister turn when an unexpected outsider is nominated for prom court. Things go from bad to worse as the girls start vanishing mysteriously, turning the class of ’88’s prom night into a nightmare.

An Ensemble Cast

The movie features a talented ensemble cast, including Fina Strazza, known for her role as KJ in Amazon’s “Paper Girls”. Strazza is joined by India Fowler (The Nevers, Insomnia), Suzanna Son (Red Rocket, The Idol), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty, Cinnamon), Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Chris Klein (Sweet Magnolias, American Pie), Lili Taylor (Outer Range, Manhunt), and Katherine Waterston (The End We Start From, Perry Mason).

Adapting R.L. Stine’s Novel

Fear Street: Prom Queen is based on the 1992 novel of the same name by R.L. Stine, which was the 15th book in his popular teen horror series. Director Matt Palmer (Calibre) is at the helm of this adaptation, bringing Stine’s chilling story to life on screen.

Building on the Fear Street Trilogy’s Success

The Fear Street franchise launched on Netflix in the summer of 2021 with a groundbreaking release strategy. The trilogy, spanning from 1666 to 1994, was released over three consecutive weeks and spent an impressive 12 weeks on the Netflix Top 10.

With Fear Street: Prom Queen, Netflix aims to continue the franchise’s success and cement its position in the horror genre. The first-look footage has already generated excitement among fans eager to return to the terrifying world of Shadyside.

Get ready for a prom night filled with thrills and chills in Fear Street: Prom Queen, coming soon to Netflix!
