Speaking to world leaders at the United Nations on Monday as part of a climate Summit 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg gave a passionate speech where she scolded world leaders for their lack of action to combat climate change. The Swedish teen who first gained notoriety after striking in front of the Swedish Parliament has become the face of the modern movement of young people demanding action to fight climate change.
Through tears Greta told the world leaders “You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words, we are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you”.
