Roseanne Barr Gets Emotional on Rabbi’s Podcast, Says ‘No Excuse’ For Tweet – Talks Jewish Faith
An emotional Roseanne Barr appeared on the Rabbi Shmuley podcast where she discussed the controversy over her tweet and the fallout with ABC. The star discussed her Jewish faith and said there was ‘no excuse’ for her racist tweet. Here is part of the transcript Via Deadline.
“It’s really hard to say this but, I didn’t mean what they think I meant,’ Barr said. “And that’s what’s so painful. But I have to face that it hurt people. When you hurt people, even unwillingly, there’s no excuse. I don’t want to run off and blather on with excuses. But I apologize to anyone who thought, or felt offended and who thought that I meant something that I, in fact, did not mean. It was my own ignorance, and there’s no excuse for that ignorance. But I didn’t mean it the way they’re saying I meant it. And that’s really weird, too, because if I don’t speak for myself, who will speak for me?”

Hollywood In Shock: ABC Ends Popular ‘Roseanne’ Reboot Following Controversial Tweets
ABC has put an official end to its Roseanne PR nightmare, cancelling the revived comedy in the wake of star Roseanne Barr’s racist Twitter tirade.
In a statement, Channing Dungey, president of ABC statement said, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”
The move came just moments after Barr’s TV daughter, Sara Gilbert, released her own statement, condemning the outburst.
In a pair of tweets, Gilbert called her TV’s mom’s Tuesday-morning tirade — in which she described African-American former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett as a combination of the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes in a since-deleted tweet — “abhorrent,” adding that the remark does “not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least.”
Gilbert continued, “This is incredibly sad and difficult for all of us, as we’ve created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love— one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member.”
Barr later apologized for the remark before announcing that she was quitting Twitter.
In the immediate aftermath of Barr’s outburst, consulting producer Wanda Sykes announced that she would not be back for Season 11. It was the show’s second major departure; Whitney Cummings, who served as co-showrunner for Season 10, recently stepped down. She cited “work commitments and my tour schedule” as the reasons for her departure.

Roseanne Revival Is About Making People “Come Together” Says Michael Fishman
Michael Fishman who plays DJ Conner on Roseanne took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to defend the show and what it represents in a series of tweets.
1st time people told me parents wouldn't let them watch because the show was too real.
Others cus it was too liberal, facing issues like underage sex, racism & homosexuality.
Laughable when people say they won't watch now because of anticipated conservatism
Comedy = raw truths

#Roseanne is about real life issues.
Normal looking families, funny relatable storylines, and raw truths.
We are inclusive, diverse, complex, raw, mostly unapologetic, and dedicated to making people come together through humor.
Everyone's welcome from our end

The revival of Roseanne premieres on ABC in March and includes a gender-fluid character and addresses other relevant social issues. Much like the series did during it’s original run from the late 1980s into the 1990s.
Roseanne Revival: Meet Darlene’s Kids! – See Photos
TVline revealed exclusively today the first photos of Darlene Conner with her two children taken from the upcoming Roseanne revival coming to ABC in 2018. Check out the pics below along with details courtesy of TVline.
It appears Roseanne Conner will be contending with a much fuller house when Roseanne returns to ABC this March. As these exclusive images all but confirm, Darlene is indeed moving home — and she’s bringing her two kids with her.
Emma Kenney has boarded the 9-episode revival as Darlene and David’s now 14-year-old daughter Harris.
She’s joined by newcomer Ames McNamara, who takes on the role of their gender-fluid son Mark.
Roseanne Revival Premiere Date, New Trailer (Video)
On Friday, ABC released a teaser trailer for the return of “Roseanne” that also named the date. The highly anticipated nine-episode series will premiere on March 27, 2018, with an hourlong special.
The show will then move to its regular timeslot Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT, which was the time slot for the original series’ final two-and-a-half seasons
Roseanne Revival Update | Are David & Darlene Still Together? [Spoiler]
Although Johnny Galecki’s involvement in ABC’s forthcoming Roseanne revival remains an open question, new details have come to light that suggest his character, David Healy, will at the very least have a strong presence in the eight-episode continuation.
ABC declined to comment for this story, but TVLine has learned that producers — which include Galecki’s onscreen squeeze Sara Gilbert as well as titular star Roseanne Barr, actress-comedienne Whitney Cummings and sitcom vet Brice Heldford — have quietly begun searching for a young actress and actor to portray the children of Gilbert’s Darlene and Galecki’s David.
The news essentially confirms what we strongly hinted at back in May: The twist in Roseanne‘s 1997 series finale that erased David and Darlene’s entire relationship — and instead paired David with Becky and Darlene with Mark — will, in fact, be undone. (The twist in question revealed much of the show to be a figment of the title character’s imagination. It also posited that John Goodman’s Dan had succumbed to a heart attack, something the revival will also gloss over.)
Of Darlene and David’s two kids, one of them — daughter Harris — was actually introduced to viewers in Season 9’s 19th episode, when Darlene delivered the baby very prematurely. I’m told the now 14-year-old hellion will be the spitting image of Young Darlene, in appearance and attitude. Their other child, meanwhile, will be a boy under the age of 10.
