Jenna Ortega is reflecting on her three seasons as Harley Diaz on the Disney Channel series “Stuck In The Middle”. As we previously reported Disney has canceled the family series following the end of filming of the third season last week. In a lengthy Instagram tribute on Saturday Ortega shared some insight into the role of Harley.

“When I auditioned for Harley Diaz, she wasn’t Harley Diaz. Her name was Hillary, she didn’t have a last name, and she had blonde hair, blue eyes, and glasses.”

“I’ll forever remember when I got the phone call saying I booked the show. I dropped to my knees and cried… I was so excited! My character has grown so much from the beginning and being apart of that growth has been such an incredible experience.” Jenna writes in the Instagram post.

This journey has been amazing, and I owe a huge thanks to my Diaz family. Joe, Cerina, Ronni, Kayla, Isaac, Nicolas, Malachi, and Ariana, thank you. You guys are so talented, thank you for being a family to me on and off screen. I love you all with all of my heart and wish you the best.”

Jenna made sure to remind fans that while the series has officially wrapped production there are still many more episodes yet to air on Disney Channel.

“And don’t worry, we still have some of the best episodes left for you to see! I hope TV sees more girls like Harley, who are smart, determined and are passionate about STEM. And to wrap all of this up -Harley Diaz, you’ll always be a part of me. Thank you for always encouraging me to be my best. I’ll love you forever Xx #DiazForever
