Since its launch in the summer of 2014, Disney Channel’s “Girl Meets World” has grown into something that’s gone beyond the confines of what is generally expected from Disney Channel’s original fare nowadays – and into something that harkens back to what made “Boy Meets World” realistic and a trendsetter for it’s time. According to the Girl Meets World writers – mainly co-creator Michael Jacobs – the series is going to be stepping even further into Boy Meets World territory. Dealing with real world issues facing today’s generation.

This comes after the highly anticipated 3 part special “Girl Meets Texas” proved that the promise to deal with real issues was indeed being kept by the show’s crew. The episodes got serious and now we have confirmation that the series is ready to step up and be a tool for helping to deal with life issues.

Girl Meets World airs Fridays at 8:30/7:30c on Disney Channel.
