Prime Video is preparing to bring the ancient story of David to life with its new series, House of David, set to premiere February 27, 2025. This epic drama will launch with three episodes, followed by new installments each week.

A New Face for a Timeless Story

At the heart of the series is David, portrayed by Michael Iskander, a relative newcomer who earned the role after an extensive international talent search. Iskander steps into the spotlight as the young shepherd chosen by God to lead Israel, capturing both the vulnerability and determination that define this iconic figure.

The series begins with David’s clash with Goliath, played by Martyn Ford, and explores his rise from an underestimated outcast to the revered King of Israel. Alongside Iskander, the cast includes Stephen Lang as the prophet Samuel and Ali Suliman as King Saul, whose pride and downfall set the stage for David’s ascent.

A Creative Vision Rooted in Faith-Based Storytelling

This ambitious series is led by Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn, whose previous works like Jesus Revolution and American Underdog have earned acclaim for their heartfelt storytelling. The production brings together a team with deep roots in faith-based projects, including Dallas Jenkins, the creator of The Chosen, who serves as a special advisor.

A Story of Leadership, Faith, and Redemption

House of David captures the struggle between power and humility, pride and obedience, as the transition of leadership unfolds in ancient Israel. Through themes of love, loss, and spiritual destiny, the series breathes new life into the tale of David and his journey to becoming Israel’s most celebrated king.
