The official Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen Instagram account posted its own reel of Sophia Anne Caruso and the ensemble performing “Immured,” a stage look at the Duncan Sheik number just days before Off-Broadway previews begin. The caption reads, “For Duncan. Our friend, collaborator and inspiration.” Playbill had shared an earlier take on the same live-frame performance Monday.
As TDN reported earlier, the first full listen of “Immured” was a black-and-white studio performance that Playbill premiered on YouTube on September 11. The new reels put the same song in a live performance frame: Caruso at a microphone, the company around her, red drapery and spotlights behind them, with on-screen text labeling the number from Sheik’s score. That studio listen followed an earlier Memoirs studio clip with Caruso and Cory Jeacoma.
The musical adapts Moyoco Anno’s manga, with music and lyrics by Sheik and a book by Leah Nanako Winkler. Rob Ashford directs and choreographs. Caruso stars as Colette, with Jeacoma as Léon. Performances begin September 25 at The Night Egg at The Culture Club in Chelsea, with opening night set for October 15 and a run currently scheduled through January 3, 2027. TDN covered tickets when they went on sale in August.
The dedication lands a few days after TDN’s September 18 report of Duncan Sheik’s death. The production is still moving toward its first preview as announced.
Tickets remain on sale through the show’s site at MemoirsMusical.com.
