Monday’s broadcast of The View on ABC was sidetracked when demonstrators repeatedly interrupted the show while it was featuring an interview with Senator Ted Cruz.
As Cruz, who was on the program to promote his newest book, was providing an answer to a question, yells could be heard coming from the show’s live audience. Whoopi Goldberg, the moderator of “The View,” cut in during the continuing shouting and addressed the demonstrators as follows:
“Let us do our job,” Goldberg said. “We hear what you all have to say but you gotta go. You gotta let us do our job.”
After that, The View went to a commercial break. When the program resumed, however, other demonstrators started yelling, and the presenters suggested that they were addressing worries about climate change rather than Cruz in particular.
The group shared the following on TikTok showing what the moment was like from the audience.
