Disney and Pixar are heading to the Big Apple for a special sneak peek of their latest animated adventure. According to an exclusive report from Deadline, the New York International Children’s Film Festival (NYICFF) has secured the opening night slot for a preview screening of the highly anticipated film Hoppers.
Directed by Daniel Chong, Hoppers follows a teenage animal lover who uses cutting-edge technology to transfer her consciousness into a robotic beaver. This unique “undercover” mission allows her to dive deep into the mysteries of the animal kingdom. The film boasts an impressive voice cast including Meryl Streep, Jon Hamm, Ego Nwodim, Dave Franco, Bobby Moynihan, and Piper Curda.
The screening serves as a major win for the NYICFF, which runs from February 28 through March 15. The festival’s Director of Programming, Maria-Christina Villaseñor, expressed excitement about introducing Pixar’s artistry and Chong’s wit to a new generation of fans. The event will kick off with a celebratory pajama party and a red carpet.
Beyond the Pixar preview, the festival will host the U.S. premiere of My Life In Versailles and debut a short film program titled Native Stories. Fans across the rest of the country can catch Hoppers when it officially lands in theaters on March 6.
