Kenzi Richardson is heading back to Wilson Hall. Disney announced today that the live-action Vampirina: Teenage Vampire will return for a second season, premiering Oct. 6 on Disney Channel, with the full season streaming the next day on Disney+.
The news comes from Disney Branded Television’s official announcement, dated Sept. 1, 2026, which also released first-look photos from the new season. Deadline and Variety have not posted a dedicated season 2 story as of this writing; Deadline first reported the series order in November 2024, when Disney Branded Television greenlit the music-driven comedy alongside How We Became the Biggest Band in the World. This is the Disney Channel series, not Richardson’s other new Disney job. Last week TDN reported that she had landed the lead in Disney+’s Aquamarine series. That project is a separate Disney+ adaptation. Vampirina: Teenage Vampire remains the live-action Channel/Disney+ show that launched last fall, with Richardson as Vee.
Richardson returns as the “edgy and adorable” Vee, joined again by Jiwon Lee as roommate Sophie, Shaun Dixon as Elijah, Milo Maharlika as 600-year-old ghost Demi, and Faith Hedley as Britney. Kim Coles is back as Dean Merriweather.
The sophomore season adds new faces. Jodie Sweetin (Full House) and Ava Jean (Camp Rock 3) join as recurring guest stars. Hollywood Records artist Hudson Stone (Camp Rock 3, the Mickey Mouse Club pilot) is set to guest star.
Disney’s logline picks up after season 1: Vee has performed for the whole school in front of her idol, Millie Eyelash, and accidentally released a horde of monsters once imprisoned in the mirror realm. She and her friends return to Wilson Hall with new musical dreams, while trying to make sense of a prophecy that says Vee and Elijah can never be together.
Dan Cross and David Hoge, the team behind Julie and the Phantoms, remain showrunners and executive producers. Tim Federle (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) is an executive producer, with Bronwyn North-Reist and Meg Deloatch (Family Reunion). Randi Barnes developed the series for television, based on Anne Marie Pace’s books and inspired by the Disney Jr. animated Vampirina.
Season 1 of Vampirina: Teenage Vampire premiered on Disney Channel in September 2025, with all episodes later streaming on Disney+. TDN has followed Richardson’s run on the show from the original live-action order through the soundtrack and Disney+ run.
