The wait is finally over! This morning, Peacock officially dropped the first trailer for the second season of Ted, and it looks like our favorite foul-mouthed teddy bear is ending high school with a massive bang.

Following the massive success of the first season—which became Peacock’s most-watched original title ever—Seth MacFarlane is bringing the Bennett family back for senior year. If the new footage is any indication, the transition into adulthood is going to be just as messy, raunchy, and surprisingly heartfelt as we hoped.

Here is everything you need to know about the new season based on this morning’s big reveal.

Senior Year Shenanigans in 1994 The new season jumps forward to 1994. John Bennett (Max Burkholder) and Ted are officially seniors, which means the stakes for their brand of idiocy have never been higher. The trailer highlights the duo trying to navigate their final months of high school, which apparently involves everything from calling “naughty” hotlines on school phones to navigating the social hierarchy of a 90s Boston suburb.

Epic Guest Stars and D&D One of the biggest surprises in the trailer is a cameo from Brennan Lee Mulligan (Dimension 20, Critical Role). He appears as a Dungeon Master leading John and Ted through a game of Dungeons & Dragons. It’s a perfect nod to the era’s nerd culture and fits right into the show’s specific brand of comedic timing.

Returning Cast and Family Chaos The core “thunder buddy” unit is back in full force. Max Burkholder returns as the young John Bennett, with Seth MacFarlane once again providing the voice and motion capture for Ted. Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach are back as John’s parents, Matty and Susan, while Giorgia Whigham returns as the liberal-minded cousin, Blaire. The trailer hints at plenty of friction between Matty’s old-school Boston attitude and the changing times of the mid-90s.

When and How to Watch Peacock confirmed that Ted Season 2 will premiere on Thursday, March 5. Fans won’t have to wait week-to-week for this one; all eight episodes will be available to binge-watch immediately on launch day.

The Ted Universe is Expanding While we gear up for Season 2, it’s worth noting that the “Ted-verse” isn’t stopping here. Recent reports have also confirmed that an animated sequel series is in development, which will reportedly reunite MacFarlane with original film stars Mark Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried to pick up where Ted 2 left off.

It’s a great time to be a fan of the world’s most inappropriate stuffed animal. Make sure to clear your schedule for March 5!
