Mckenna Grace has spent the fall as one of the faces of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, playing Maysilee Donner in the film Lionsgate brings to theaters later this month. On Monday, she joined its soundtrack too.
Lionsgate and MCA have revealed the complete lineup for “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album),” and Grace’s own song, “Half Alive,” holds track 16 on the 29-song collection. The full list, detailed by Variety, puts her in company that ranges from Ella Langley and Tyler Childers to Kacey Musgraves, Stevie Nicks and the Cure.
It is a natural step for a performer Trevor Decker News has covered as a recording artist all year, from her Scream 7 anthem “Twisting the Knife” with Ice Nine Kills in February to her solo singles “Ugly and Rotten” in June and “Bones and All” in September. This time, the song and the role arrive together.
The album’s other headline is a homecoming. Jennifer Lawrence sings “Deep in the Meadow,” the lullaby her Katniss sang in the first Hunger Games film, at track 26, bringing the franchise’s original voice back for its newest chapter.
Whitney Peak, who plays Lenore Dove Baird in the film, bookends the record with her three “Raven” pieces. Two tracks are already familiar around here: Gigi Perez’s “Favor,” released on Friday, and Noah Kahan’s “Draw You Out,” which opened the album’s rollout in September.
The album, executive produced by Dave Cobb, arrives November 13 on MCA, one week before the film reaches theaters on November 20. A separate score album by James Newton Howard lands alongside the film, and because this is an “inspired by” collection, most of its songs will live alongside the movie rather than in it. Grace’s will be easy to picture in the arena anyway.
