Teachers spend their days building young minds, and now LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Grapevine wants to return the favor. The Dallas area’s only indoor LEGO playground is running its Teacher Appreciation Days promotion through July 31, and it comes with free general admission for any educator who shows up with the right paperwork.

The offer extends past the teacher’s own ticket too. Educators can bring up to six guests along for 30 percent off general admission, though the discount requires booking tickets online in advance. Upon arrival, teachers need to present a valid school I.D. or a paystub to redeem the deal.

Thad Bennett, LEGOLAND Discovery Center’s Master Model Builder, said the appreciation runs both ways when kids and teachers cross paths at the attraction. “As much as I teach kids LEGO building tips, they teach me just as many amazing facts they’ve learned from their teachers about bugs, dinosaurs, spaceships, everything you can think of,” Bennett said. “Their faces light up each time, and teachers deserve a ton of credit for inspiring that love of learning, and life, in our kids. That’s why we love to host this special event.”

Teacher Appreciation Days is only one piece of what LEGOLAND Discovery Center offers educators year round. The attraction also provides free educational resources and activities for classrooms, plus discounted admission for school field trips. Teachers can book their free tickets online at the attraction’s Teacher Appreciation Month page.

There’s more landing at the Grapevine location this summer beyond the teacher promotion. LEGO NINJAGO: The True Ninja Trials kicks off July 9 and runs through August 16, marking the franchise’s 15th anniversary with a walk through the Whispering Woods. Guests train alongside the Ninja to take down elemental monsters through hands on brick challenges, including building a dragon to protect the woods and working together on an elemental masters mosaic. The event also includes a stop at the Creative Workshop to meet the Master Model Builder and a screening of the 4D movie LEGO NINJAGO: Masters of the 4th Dimension.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center is one of 15 similar attractions across North America, built for kids ages 3 to 10 and their families with rides, a 4D cinema, and a MINILAND section featuring landmarks built entirely from LEGO bricks.
