Camila Morrone Shares Insights on Her Powerful Performance in ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ Finale

In the finale of Prime Video’s limited series “Daisy Jones and the Six,” actress Camila Morrone delivers a powerful performance as Camila Dunne, the supportive wife of frontman Billy Dunne, played by Sam Claflin. The series, based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel, chronicles the rise and fall of a fictional 70s rock band.

Morrone’s character, Camila, is a more subdued presence throughout the series until the climactic moment when it becomes clear she is no longer the love of Billy’s life. Morrone’s portrayal of Camila’s observant nature and her role as the band’s photographer from the start is a highlight of the series.

The finale sees Camila confronting her husband about his affection for Daisy Jones, the Stevie Nicks-inspired singer-songwriter played by Riley Keough, who serves as Billy’s artistic soulmate. Morrone recalls the intensity of filming this scene, which marked the end of Billy and Camila’s marriage. The actress describes the scene as a “gut-wrenching” moment, filled with tears and screaming.

In a conversation with IndieWire, Morrone, who has made a name for herself in acclaimed independent films like “Never Going Back” and “Mickey and the Bear,” saw “Daisy Jones and the Six” as a significant opportunity. Despite the pressure of the show’s built-in audience, Morrone focused on delivering her best performance one scene at a time.

The series has been a hit for Prime Video, with its original music even making it onto the Billboard charts. As the series enters Emmy season, Morrone, a contender for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, reflects on the work that went into her breakout TV role.
