Football’s biggest night is getting the streaming treatment. Disney and ESPN announced Wednesday that Super Bowl LXI will livestream on Disney+ on Sunday, February 14, 2027, giving every subscriber a front-row seat to ESPN’s first-ever Super Bowl production alongside the traditional broadcasts on ESPN and ABC.
The game kicks off from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, marking the first time ABC has aired the Super Bowl since 2006 and the first time ESPN has ever produced one. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will call the action, with Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge reporting from the sidelines. Disney+ will carry both the English-language telecast and the Spanish-language broadcast from ESPN Deportes.
The announcement is part of a bigger international push. Disney+ will stream ESPN’s Super Bowl presentation in more than 55 markets outside the U.S., including Brazil, Latin America, the Caribbean, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. ESPN’s linear networks will carry the game in more than 130 countries and territories.
Before the big game, Disney+ subscribers get a warm-up. Two Monday Night Football games airing on ESPN and ABC will also stream on Disney+ this fall, starting with the Dallas Cowboys at the Philadelphia Eagles on October 26. Both the English and Spanish broadcasts will be available, with a second game yet to be announced.
The Valentine’s Day date makes this Super Bowl a first in more ways than one. It will be the first Super Bowl ever played on Valentine’s Day and on Presidents’ Day weekend, and the ninth hosted in the greater Los Angeles area. The halftime performer has not been announced yet.
Demand is already through the roof. Disney said commercial inventory for the telecast sold out in August, the earliest sellout by any network in Super Bowl history, with 58 brands across 34 categories buying in, including nine first-time Super Bowl advertisers.
Disney is going all-in on the buildup. ESPN will transform Santa Monica Beach into ESPN Beach starting February 8, a week-long broadcast hub with a free fan experience on the Santa Monica Pier. The company’s “We’re Going” marketing campaign reimagines the classic “I’m Going to Disney World” tradition with more than 60 characters from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar.
For cord-cutters, this is the moment Disney+ becomes a real sports destination. The streamer has been building toward live sports, and landing the Super Bowl, television’s biggest annual event, puts it on the map in a major way.
