Playbill posted a new Instagram reel Monday featuring Sophia Anne Caruso and the ensemble of Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen performing “Immured.” It is a different look from the studio “Immured” video Playbill released earlier this month, and it arrives just days before the Off-Broadway show begins performances.
As TDN reported earlier, the first full listen of “Immured” was a black-and-white studio performance that Playbill premiered on YouTube on September 11. Monday’s reel puts the same song in a live performance frame: Caruso at a microphone, the company around her, red drapery and spotlights behind them, with on-screen text labeling the number from Duncan Sheik’s score. That studio listen followed an earlier Memoirs studio clip with Caruso and Cory Jeacoma.
The musical adapts Moyoco Anno’s manga, with music and lyrics by Sheik and a book by Leah Nanako Winkler. Rob Ashford directs and choreographs. Caruso stars as Colette, with Jeacoma as Léon. Performances begin September 25 at The Night Egg at The Culture Club in Chelsea, with opening night set for October 15 and a run currently scheduled through January 3, 2027. The new clip lands three days after TDN’s September 18 report of Duncan Sheik’s death. The production is still moving toward its first preview as announced.
