Netflix has expanded the cast of its upcoming drama series Poser, adding Sadie Stanley as a series regular. Stanley, known for her recent role in Karate Kid: Legends and the anthology series Cruel Summer, joins previously announced leads Daisy Jelley and Annie Murphy in the eight-episode project.
The series comes from creator Lauren Iungerich, serving as writer and showrunner under her overall deal with the streaming giant. Poser is framed as a psychological thriller exploring the complexities of toxic female friendship. The plot centers on two estranged former best friends; when one is presented with the chance to inhabit the life she has long desired—and uncover the truth behind their past falling out—she enters a volatile cycle of revenge and betrayal.
Stanley is set to portray Emmy, described as an unassuming and deeply empathetic woman who lives a quiet life while harboring a longing for the lifestyle of her former friend. This role marks another significant step in Stanley’s career, which began with her debut as Kim Possible in the 2019 Disney Channel original movie.
Stanley’s recent credits include a recurring role on The Goldbergs and a lead performance in the second season of Cruel Summer. On the film side, she recently appeared as Mia Lipani in Sony’s Karate Kid: Legends, starring alongside Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio. Iungerich and Jamie Dooner will executive produce the series through Crazy Cat Lady Entertainment.
