Fresh off her breakout role as Enid Sinclair in the hit Netflix series Wednesday, 21-year-old actress Emma Myers has booked her next big project. As reported by Deadline, Myers has been cast in the upcoming Minecraft movie, based on the popular video game.
Myers joins Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen in the movie’s ensemble cast. The film has been in development for some time under the direction of Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess. In addition to starring, Jason Momoa is signed on as a producer.
After years in various stages of production, filming for the Minecraft movie is finally expected to begin at the end of this month in New Zealand. The video game adaptation has generated significant buzz among gaming and film fans alike.
Myers has been on a hot streak as of late, with her new Netflix film Family Switch debuting at #2 on the platform’s Top 10 rankings just last week. The young actress is quickly becoming a star on the rise following her scene-stealing performance in Wednesday.
