Mckenna Grace has released her new song “It’s So Fine” today, the latest preview of the soundtrack to Nimrods, the upcoming Green Day inspired coming of age comedy hitting theaters August 14. Grace also appears in the film in a supporting role. The track will land on the Nimrods Original Soundtrack, a 30 song collection due out July 31 that pairs 22 career spanning Green Day songs with soundtrack exclusives from The Paradox, Ultra Q and Grace, plus four songs from Analog Dogs, the fictional band at the center of the film’s story. The soundtrack announcement also brought a new Green Day track, “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.,” along with four previously unreleased live recordings from the band’s Palladium show in Los Angeles that appears in the movie. Nimrods follows three friends played by Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman and Ryan Foust who set off for Los Angeles under the mistaken belief that their band is set to open for Green Day on New Year’s Eve, in a story inspired by Green Day’s own lean years before the release of Dookie. The film also stars Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Fred Armisen, Bobby Lee and Sean Gunn, and is directed by Lee Kirk. Alongside the song’s release, Grace shared a lyric video on her YouTube channel, embedded below.
