Camp Rock 3 Trailer Brings the Jonas Brothers Back to Camp After 18 Years

Disney has released the official trailer for Camp Rock 3, giving fans their clearest look yet at the franchise’s long-awaited return nearly two decades after the original film introduced the world to Camp Rock. The trailer arrived today alongside confirmation that the movie will premiere Aug. 13 on Disney Channel at 8 p.m. EDT/PDT, with a Disney+ premiere following the next day.

Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas, and Kevin Jonas are back as Shane, Nate, and Jason Gray, the members of Connect 3, and this time the story finds the band without an opening act for a major reunion tour. Rather than resume their old jobs as camp counselors, Connect 3 heads back to Camp Rock to scout the next big thing directly from a fresh class of campers, setting up a competition that plays out across the film’s Final Jam structure. The trailer shows the trio stepping out of a string of fancy cars to the shock of the camp’s newest arrivals, with Nick explaining the plan to find their opener right there and then before Joe lays out the three challenges standing between the campers and the spotlight.

Leading that new class of talent are Liamani Segura as Sage and Malachi Barton as Fletch, whose characters find themselves at the center of both the competition and a budding romance that echoes the dynamic between Joe Jonas’s and Demi Lovato’s characters in the first two films. The trailer also includes a moment where Sage discovers an old songbook that once belonged to Mitchie Torres, the character Lovato played in the original Camp Rock movies. Lovato will not appear on screen this time around, though she and the Jonas Brothers are credited as executive producers on the new film. Rounding out the new cast are Lumi Pollack as Rosie, Sherry Cola as Lark, Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie, and Ava Jean as Madison. Maria Canals-Barrera returns as Connie Torres, Mitchie’s mother, continuing a role she has played since the franchise began.

Veronica Rodriguez directs Camp Rock 3 from a script by Eydie Faye, the same pairing behind Disney’s The Slumber Party, with choreography from Jamal Sims. Along with the trailer, Disney has released a new song from the soundtrack called “One Beat Away,” performed by Liamani Segura and the cast, which is now streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music. The full Camp Rock 3 soundtrack arrives digitally on Aug. 14, with a vinyl pressing to follow on Sept. 18, following TDN’s earlier look at the complete track listing.

The original Camp Rock premiered in 2008 and became one of the highest rated Disney Channel Original Movies ever made, launching “This Is Me” to the No. 9 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and helping cement the early careers of both the Jonas Brothers and Lovato. Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam followed in 2010 to similarly strong ratings. With Camp Rock 3 set nearly two decades later, the new trailer leans hard into that nostalgia, weaving in footage from the earlier films alongside the introduction of its new campers, and signals that Disney is positioning this installment as both a passing of the torch and a reunion for the fans who grew up with the franchise.
