Angel Studios has released its latest film, “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot,” which has received an A+ CinemaScore and a 97% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film, directed by Joshua Weigel, features performances by Nika King, Demetrius Grosse, and Elizabeth Mitchell. It was executive produced by Letitia Wright for 3.16 Productions and written and produced by Joshua and Rebekah Weigel for Peacetree Productions.
“Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot” was released in 2,196 theaters on July 4 and expanded to 2,209 theaters the following day. The film currently holds an 80% critic score and a 97% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film is based on the true story of Donna and Reverend Martin, who inspired their church community in Possum Trot, Texas, to adopt 77 children from the foster system.
