Halle Bailey wows in new teaser for Disney’s live-action ‘The Little Mermaid’

Disney has released a new teaser for its upcoming live-action retelling of the classic fairytale “The Little Mermaid.” The film, starring Halle Bailey as Ariel, offers a fresh take on the beloved story and introduces new actors to iconic roles.

In the 30-second preview, we get a glimpse of Bailey’s portrayal of Ariel as she meets Jonah Hauer-King’s Prince Eric. Meanwhile, Melissa McCarthy, who plays the villainous sea witch Ursula, makes a quick appearance with her signature laugh.

Bailey shared her excitement about the new teaser on Twitter, writing, “I’m so very excited to continue the #Disney100 celebration with this new look at #TheLittleMermaid just 100 days until it arrives in theaters!” Her enthusiasm is understandable, given the anticipation for this highly anticipated film.

The movie boasts an impressive cast, including Javier Bardem as Ariel’s father, King Triton. The voice cast is equally impressive, with Jacob Tremblay as Ariel’s fish best friend Flounder, Daveed Diggs as the crab Sebastian, and Awkwafina as the seagull Scuttle.

The release of the new teaser has generated a lot of buzz and excitement for the film, with fans eagerly awaiting its arrival in theaters. With a talented cast and a fresh take on a beloved classic, “The Little Mermaid” promises to be a must-see movie event of the year.
