An all-new studio album from Paramore is in the works, and they’ve just dropped their first new song in five years

New music from Paramore is on the way, as their next album’s announcement confirmed. The band fronted by Hayley Williams said on Wednesday that their first album since 2017 would be titled “This Is Why,” and that it would be released on February 10. The album’s title track, “This Is Why,” has also been released as the album’s first single. The new album was produced in Los Angeles with help from Carlos de la Garza and features ten tracks.

Williams stated that “This Is Why” was the group’s final song that they wrote for the album in reference to the newly released single.

“To be honest, I was so tired of writing lyrics, but Taylor convinced Zac and I both that we should work on this last idea. What came out of it was the title track for the whole album,” Williams said in a statement. “It summarizes the plethora of ridiculous emotions, the rollercoaster of being alive in 2022, having survived even just the last 3 or 4 years.”

She added, “You’d think after a global pandemic of fucking biblical proportions and the impending doom of a dying planet, that humans would have found it deep within themselves to be kinder or more empathetic or something.”
