Paramore, the trio comprised of Hayley Williams, Zac Farro and Taylor York, has released their highly anticipated album, “This Is Why”, after a six-year hiatus. The album was released via Atlantic Records on February 10th, 2023.
The title track, “This Is Why”, was the final song written for the album. According to Williams, she was tired of writing lyrics, but Taylor convinced both her and Zac to work on this last idea, which ended up becoming the title track and summarizing the wild emotions of life in 2022, in the aftermath of a global pandemic and a dying planet.
Since the release of their last album, “After Laughter”, in 2017, Williams has released her solo album, “Petals for Armor”, and Farro has released a number of works under the moniker Halfnoise. The trio appeared on Billboard’s digital cover in January, where they discussed their return as a band and their journey together.
The new album features previously released singles “C’est Comme Ça,” “The News,” and the title track. Listen to “This Is Why” in full and relive the magic of Paramore.
