Amazon MGM Studios has released the first two official clips from Verity, the upcoming psychological thriller starring Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett. The clips, titled “Meeting Verity” and “Say Something,” offer the first extended look at footage from the film ahead of its theatrical release on October 2.
Adapted from Colleen Hoover’s New York Times best-selling novel, the seductive thriller follows renowned author Verity Crawford (Hathaway) and Lowen Ashleigh (Johnson), a struggling writer who relocates to the remote Crawford estate to ghostwrite for Verity. After Lowen uncovers what appears to be Verity’s chilling autobiographical notes, she wrestles with the disturbing and twisted confessions about Verity’s husband Jeremy (Hartnett), and finds it hard to separate fiction from reality, manipulation from attraction, and opportunity from obsession.

The film is directed by Michael Showalter from a screenplay by Nick Antosca, based on the book by Colleen Hoover. Producers include Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Stacey Sher, Michael Showalter, Jordana Mollick, Anne Hathaway, and Colleen Hoover, with Kerry Orent, Dakota Johnson, and Lauren Levine serving as executive producers. The cast also includes Ismael Cruz Cordova and Brady Wagner.

Verity is rated R for sexual content, some nudity, language, violence and bloody images. It opens only in theaters on October 2.
