It is officially time to rock again. After fifteen years, the Jonas Brothers are heading back to the lake in the first teaser trailer for Camp Rock 3, which dropped on Thursday. While seeing Connect 3 back together is a huge dose of nostalgia, the real excitement comes from getting our first look at the new generation of campers, led by a familiar face we have been following for a while now: Liamani Segura.
The teaser opens with some emotional callbacks to the original films and the hit song “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” playing in the background. We see Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas standing by the water, confirming that Connect 3 is back to find a new opening act for their reunion tour. But the spotlight quickly shifts to the fresh talent. Liamani Segura, known for her roles in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, is introduced as Sage.
Sage is described as a bold and determined camper, and even in the brief flashes we see in the trailer, Segura’s star power is undeniable. It looks like she will be a major force in the film, which makes perfect sense given her vocal talent. In the story, Sage will be vying for that coveted opening spot alongside her easygoing brother Desi, played by newcomer Hudson Stone.
It is going to be exciting to see how Segura’s character interacts with the returning legends. The film also features Malachi Barton as the camp bad boy Fletch and Lumi Pollack as a cello prodigy named Rosie. Camp Rock 3 is set to premiere next summer on Disney+ and Disney Channel. We will be keeping a close watch for a full trailer to hear Segura sing those new anthems.
