Get ready to clear your schedules and brace yourselves, because Netflix just cranked up the hype to eleven (and beyond!) at their Tudum global fan event yesterday, May 31st, 2025. For fans of the macabre and the Upside Down, it was a day of massive reveals. We’re talking the first glorious minutes of Wednesday Season 2 and the very first, spine-chilling teaser for the final chapter of Stranger Things 5!
If your X feed (like mine!) was exploding with these two monumental drops, you’re in the right place. Let’s break down what Netflix has gifted us.
Nevermore Welcomes a New Icon: Wednesday Season 2 Kicks Off with a Bang, and Lady Gaga is Coming to Town!
The wait is almost over, Addams aficionados! Netflix unveiled the first six minutes of Wednesday Season 2, and it’s everything we could have hoped for.
The footage opens with our favorite gothic teen, Wednesday Addams (the incomparable Jenna Ortega), in a rather precarious situation: tied up in the basement of a doll-obsessed serial killer, played by none other than guest star Haley Joel Osment! As Wednesday dryly recounts her “eventful summer” that led her there, we get a flashback to six weeks prior. This includes scenes of Wednesday characteristically spending her vacation by hunting this very serial killer and a hilariously deadpan moment at airport security where she’s forced to part with her… unconventional carry-on items (yes, Thing is involved!).
And in even more electrifying news from the Tudum event, brace yourselves: the legendary Lady Gaga is officially joining the cast of Wednesday Season 2! Mother Monster herself will be gracing the halls of Nevermore Academy as Rosaline Rotwood, a renowned Nevermore teacher who will inevitably cross paths with Wednesday. To celebrate, Lady Gaga even graced the Tudum stage with a performance.
Mark your calendars, because the new season, promising more delightfully dark and kooky mayhem alongside a brand-new supernatural mystery, will be served in two courses:
- Part 1 (4 episodes) drops on August 6, 2025
- Part 2 (4 episodes) follows on September 3, 2025
Hawkins Prepares for Its Final Stand: Stranger Things Season 5 Teaser Promises an Epic Conclusion
Just when we thought our hearts couldn’t take any more, Netflix unleashed the first teaser trailer for Stranger Things Season 5, the show’s highly anticipated final season.
While much of the teaser served as a powerful montage, taking us on an emotional journey through the beloved series’ most iconic moments, it culminated in brand new, terrifying glimpses of what’s to come. One moment features Will Byers yelling “Run!” as officials aim their weapons at an ominous, unseen threat emerging from the ground. The stakes have never been higher.
The final chapter will be an event, released in three distinct parts over the 2025 holiday season, all premiering globally at 5 PM PT:
- Volume 1 (4 episodes): November 26, 2025
- Volume 2 (3 episodes): December 25, 2025
- The Finale (series finale episode): December 31, 2025
The official synopsis for Season 5 paints a grim picture: set in the fall of 1987, Hawkins is scarred by the Upside Down’s rifts. Our heroes are united in their mission to find and destroy Vecna, whose current whereabouts and plans remain unknown. Complicating matters, the government has quarantined Hawkins and is actively hunting Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance looms, so does a familiar, heavy dread and a darkness more powerful than anything they’ve faced. It’s clear that to end this nightmare, the entire party will need to stand together, one last time.
Stars Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), and Noah Schnapp (Will) were on hand at Tudum to present the teaser, with special video messages from Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) and Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), adding to the emotional weight of this final farewell.
It’s an exciting time to be a fan of these incredible shows, and the countdown to these premieres is officially on!
