Obsession led the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards on Sunday night, taking five honors at the fan-voted ceremony, which premiered on Shudder with Devon Sawa hosting.
Navarrette won Best Lead Performance for playing Nikki Freeman, a music store employee pulled into a nightmare when a wish goes wrong.
The film’s other wins were Best Wide Release, Best Director and Best Screenplay for Curry Barker, and Best Kill for the Brick Kill. Insidious star Lin Shaye presented the film’s final award of the evening, according to Variety‘s rundown of the night. Backrooms finished second with three wins, including Best First Feature.
The win adds to a remarkable run for Navarrette. Obsession, released by Focus Features in May, became the studio’s biggest film ever with more than $512 million at the worldwide box office, and her performance has already brought her a Critics Choice breakthrough award.
Her biggest stage yet comes this Saturday, when she hosts Saturday Night Live‘s Halloween episode on NBC, with Gracie Abrams as musical guest.
