Studio 8H hands its Halloween episode to a first-time host next Saturday. Inde Navarrette hosts Saturday Night Live on October 31, airing live on NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET, 10:30 p.m. CT, and streaming on Peacock.
Navarrette broke out this year in Obsession, the Focus Features thriller in which she plays Nikki Freeman, a music store employee caught at the center of a wish gone wrong. The film turned into one of the biggest box office stories of the year, and her performance recently earned her a Critics Choice breakthrough award. Obsession is streaming now on Peacock, the same service that will carry her hosting debut live.
Trevor Decker News first reported Navarrette’s Halloween hosting booking in September, and NBC’s Season 52 slate announcement this week, covered by Deadline, reconfirmed the episode at the front of a three-week run of shows. Druski hosts the following week, and John Mulaney closes out the run on November 14.
The pairing writes itself: the star of the year’s biggest horror hit leading the most costume-friendly night on the SNL calendar. It is the biggest live stage of Navarrette’s career so far, one monologue and a night of sketches, with Gracie Abrams returning as musical guest for her second appearance on the show.
