The reaping is almost here. Lionsgate will open ticket sales for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping on Wednesday, October 28, covering all showtimes for the film’s first days in theaters.
The earliest seats belong to the premium screens. Early-access screenings are set for Wednesday, November 18 at 6 p.m., two days before the November 20 opening, exclusively in IMAX and premium large formats. Participating formats include IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, ScreenX, Cinemark XD, Regal RPX and AMC Prime, and Lionsgate advises checking local listings for showtimes and theater availability.
Sunrise on the Reaping travels back 24 years before Katniss, to the morning of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, the Second Quarter Quell, with twice as many tributes as usual. Joseph Zada stars as sixteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy, with Mckenna Grace as fellow District 12 tribute Maysilee Donner. Francis Lawrence, who directed three of the original four films, returns behind the camera. The film is rated PG-13.
Trevor Decker News recently shared the film’s 14 character posters, led by Grace’s Maysilee and Zada’s Haymitch.
