Chloë Grace Moretz has a new romantic comedy out this weekend, and it nearly slipped by unnoticed. Love Language opened Friday in select theaters and arrived the same day to rent at home, and the announcement came from Moretz herself, who told her Instagram followers that “as someone who loves romcoms,” she is “so happy to be part of this project,” and thanked the cast and crew who made it such a fun journey.
Moretz plays Louisa “Lou” Klaussner, an aspiring author whose own engagement has just fallen apart. Lou pours the heartbreak into writing wedding vows for other couples, and the work is going fine until a new client’s fiancé turns out to be her college crush, and the professional arrangement becomes a love rectangle she has to write her way out of.
Joey Power wrote and directed the film, which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in March. The cast around Moretz includes Anthony Ramos, Manny Jacinto, Isabel May, Lukas Gage, Billie Lourd and Chloe Fineman. Here is the official trailer from Vertical:
Love Language is playing now in select theaters and is available to rent at home on Amazon, Apple TV and other digital platforms.
