The first official trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has landed, and it does not disappoint. The footage plunges viewers right back into the haunted world of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, showcasing returning characters, terrifying new animatronics, and a much larger, more dangerous scope.
The trailer opens with a jolt, introducing a group of teens, led by a character played by Mckenna Grace. As a favorite of Trevor Decker News readers and a horror veteran (Annabelle Comes Home, Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Grace’s significant presence right from the start is a welcome sight. Her character and her friends seem to be exploring the haunted legends of the pizzeria before they are viciously attacked, setting a dark and intense tone for the entire film.
The story then cuts back to Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and his sister Abby (Piper Rubio), one year after the events of the first film. The nightmare they survived has morphed into a local legend, inspiring a “Fazfest” in town. Abby, however, still misses the animatronics and is lured into trying to find them when they seemingly reach out to her. This time, the animatronics aren’t just confined to the pizzeria; they are out in the world.
With Josh Hutcherson, Matthew Lillard, and director Emma Tammi all returning, the sequel is building directly on the foundations of the first film. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is scheduled to premiere in theaters on December 5.
