M3GAN 2.0 Trailer Drops at CinemaCon with a Bigger, Bolder Sequel

The first trailer for M3GAN 2.0 debuted at Universal’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas on April 2, and it’s a wild escalation from the viral horror hit of 2023. The original M3GAN captivated audiences with its creepy AI thrills and dance moves, grossing over $180 million on a $12 million budget. Now, Blumhouse and Universal are back with a sequel that’s bigger, bolder, and packed with high-stakes action, as showcased in the CinemaCon footage.

The trailer picks up two years after the first film, reintroducing M3GAN—upgraded and sassier than ever. She kicks things off with a cheeky line: “I admit there were some bugs in my programming. It’s hardly fair to blame me for that.” From there, the footage dives into chaos. Gemma (Allison Williams) resurrects M3GAN, now “faster, stronger, and more lethal,” to face a new threat: Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), a military-grade android built from stolen M3GAN tech. The highlight? A jaw-dropping showdown between the two robotic women, battling it out in a spectacle that marks a leap from the original’s leaner roots.

The trailer teases a full-on sci-fi horror event, with returning stars Williams, Violet McGraw, Amie Donald, and Jenna Davis joined by newcomers Sakhno, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement. Directed by Gerard Johnstone and written by Akela Cooper, M3GAN 2.0 hits theaters June 27. Stay tuned to Trevor Decker News for more as this killer robot saga unfolds.
