Angel Studios has scheduled Sketch, a fantasy comedy directed by Seth Worley, for an August 6 theater release. The announcement came Wednesday at CinemaCon, shining a light on a film starring Tony Hale and D’Arcy Carden that mixes family life with a dash of chaos.
In Sketch, Hale plays a single dad whose world turns upside down when his daughter’s funny, dark drawings start coming to life and stirring up their small town. Newcomer Bianca Belle stars as the creative daughter, Amber, alongside Kue Lawrence, Kalon Cox, Jaxen Kenner, and Genesis Rose Brown. The movie got a good response at the Toronto International Film Festival last September, and now Angel Studios is ready to bring it to audiences.
Worley, who also wrote the film, has crafted something fresh that’s catching attention. Angel Studios, known for hits like Sound of Freedom, sees potential in it. This one’s a bit different from their usual lineup, blending fun fantasy with a quirky edge.
With summer a few months off, Sketch could be a neat option for movie fans wanting something original. The studio’s banking on it, and early buzz hints it might deliver. They’ll likely rally their fanbase to spread the word in the coming months.
