NOTE: This article is 4 months old and may not include the most recent information.

As 2023 draws to a close, entertainment enthusiasts are looking ahead to 2024 and the plethora of movies and shows it has in store. From long-simmering sequels to fresh adaptations, there will be no shortage of options for film and TV buffs.

Among the most anticipated 2024 releases are “Beetlejuice 2” and “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” arriving over 25 years after Tim Burton’s fantasy comedy and the original Ghostbusters kicked off their respective franchises.

The Strange and Supernatural Return

“Beetlejuice 2” (Releasing September 6, 2024) sees Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder reprise their roles as the “Ghost with the Most” and angst-ridden Lydia Deetz. With Burton back as producer, fans are hopeful the sequel will recapture the magic that made the original a cult classic. The addition of “Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega promises to give this follow-up film a youthful boost.

“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” (Releasing March 29, 2024) is revving up excitement, especially among fans of Mckenna Grace (Phoebe). Directed by Gil Kenan of the animated Poltergeist remake, this chapter aims to stay true to the essence of the earlier movies while advancing the overall narrative. With original cast members like Sigourney Weaver and Paul Rudd returning, it offers the perfect dose of nostalgia along with its icy new setting.
