Gypsy Rose Blanchard has walked free from prison after serving seven years for her role in her mother’s murder. Her shocking case made national news, but Lifetime is now set to air her side of the story.
The network has announced a new three-night documentary event titled “The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,” premiering January 5th, 6th, and 7th at 8pm ET/PT. The project promises unprecedented access to Gypsy herself through exclusive interviews filmed behind bars.
Over the course of the three nights, Gypsy will open up about the years of horrific abuse she suffered under her mother Dee Dee, who had Munchausen syndrome by proxy. She’ll also share her perspective on the events that ultimately led to her mother’s violent stabbing death.
Crime correspondent Melissa Moore, who has documented Gypsy’s journey since 2017, serves as executive producer. The series will showcase intimate details and evidence from Gypsy’s life that have never been seen before.
Now age 32, Gypsy says she’s finally ready to use her voice and “share my truth” before embarking on her newfound freedom. Filmed prior to her release, the project captures this pivotal moment in her life.
The three-part documentary event is scheduled to begin airing on January 5th.
