Faith-based production company Kingdom Story Company has appointed veteran producer Kevin Downes as its new CEO and filmmaker Andrew Erwin as Chief Creative Officer. The executive shakeup comes on the heels of the company’s smash hit Jesus Revolution and signals an ambitious slate of new faith-based films in partnership with Lionsgate.
Downes and Erwin will steer the ship alongside Chairman Tony Young and President/COO Brandon Gregory. This leadership team has already greenlit several high-profile projects for 2024, starting with the inspirational book adaptation White Bird in October. Directed by Marc Forster and starring Helen Mirren, the film will leverage Kingdom’s marketing prowess in the faith space.
Other titles on the docket include Ordinary Angels with Oscar winner Hilary Swank in February, two spring releases Unsung Hero and The Unbreakable Boy, and a holiday film The Best Christmas Pageant Ever from the creator of the hit series The Chosen.
Kingdom’s President of Production Daryl LeFever and Head of Marketing Tiffany Long will ensure these films meet the company’s high standard for production value and promotional campaigns. After the runaway success of Jesus Revolution, Kingdom seems poised to keep delivering uplifting stories that resonate with faith audiences.
With a diverse slate covering everything from unsung heroes to Christmas cheer, the newly empowered Kingdom promises more of the inspirational storytelling it has become known for. Led by Downes and Erwin, the company looks to continue its hot streak.
