The creative team behind the upcoming musical “Jo – The Little Women Musical” has released the new single “Fly Away” on major streaming platforms including Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music and Amazon Music. Sung by Jenna Lea Rosen in the title role, the song comes at a pivotal moment for the story’s heroine, Jo March.
According to composer Dan Redfield, “Fly Away” captures “that emotion we all feel at times throughout life. It’s a very universal theme.” Now available on major streaming platforms, the single features conducting by Redfield and lyrics by Christina Harding and John Gabriel Koladziej. It offers the first taste of what promises to be an inspirational score.
Based on Louisa May Alcott’s iconic coming-of-age novel, Jo is a modern reimagining for a new generation. The show asks viewers “Will you have the courage to tell your story?”
Earlier versions of the musical performed sold-out shows in LA and New York under the working title “The Little Women Musical.” Now, with Tony-winning producers Willette and Manny Klausner (of “Hadestown” and “MJ” fame) onboard, the show is poised to take a big leap.
The Klausners will co-produce an industry workshop in 2024, along with lead producer Brian Purcell. Additional team members include general management firm ShowTown Theatricals, with Rebecca Crigler serving as General Manager.
While “Jo” isn’t yet staged for audiences, music lovers can still listen to Jo March emotionally prepare to fly away from home by streaming “Fly Away.” Let the soaring ballad sweep you up as you await further news on this promising musical.
