As Olivia Rodrigo prepares to embark on her highly anticipated ‘GUTS World Tour’, Ticketmaster looks to have learned from past mistakes and introduced an innovative new strategy.
After the company faced backlash for website crashes and lack of protection against scalpers during Taylor Swift’s last tour presale, Ticketmaster aims to better serve Rodrigo’s loyal supporters.
The new approach will make tickets inaccessible to purchasers until 72 hours prior to each scheduled performance. This measure intends to deter unauthorized resellers from monopolizing tickets and inflating prices, enabling genuine fans to obtain seats at face value.
Though initially disappointed, fans on waiting lists need not lose hope yet. Ticketmaster plans to notify waitlisted individuals if more tickets become available closer to respective tour dates.
By implementing proactive policies, Ticketmaster seeks to provide fair and easy access to in-demand tickets for Rodrigo’s world tour. If effective, this revised model could become the norm for major live events moving forward.
