Jenna Ortega Voices Doubts About Revisiting ‘Wednesday’ Dance in ‘Saturday Night Live’ Promo

Jenna Ortega, the star of the upcoming horror film Scream VI, is set to make her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live on March 11. In a promo released on Wednesday, Ortega can be seen discussing a potential sketch with SNL’s Please Don’t Destroy group, who wrote a script about her hit Netflix series Wednesday.

While Ortega expresses that she thinks the material is well-written, she expresses her reservations about performing her character’s popular dance again. She notes that they have already seen a lot of it, and that it’s time to do something new. The Please Don’t Destroy members jokingly pretend to not be interested in the sketch, despite dressing up as Wednesday Addams.

In the end, however, Ortega joins them for a rendition of the dance. The promo ends with a reminder that Saturday Night Live airs every Saturday at 11:30 p.m. on NBC and streams live on Peacock.

Earlier this week, Ortega made headlines after revealing on the Armchair Expert podcast that she had expressed concerns about aspects of Wednesday’s writing while the show was in production. She grew protective of the character and changed lines to ensure that there was an emotional arc for the character.
