Jenna Ortega, who brings Wednesday Addams to life in Netflix “Wednesday”, has paid tribute to the original Wednesday Addams, Lisa Loring. Lisa passed away over the weekend at the age of 64, following a massive stroke.
Lisa was a beloved figure in the entertainment industry, known for her role as Wednesday Addams in the 1960s TV series, The Addams Family, which aired for two seasons. Her portrayal of the iconic character left a lasting impact on pop culture.
Lisa’s close friend, Laurie Jacobson, shared the news of her passing on Facebook, explaining that she suffered a stroke due to smoking and high blood pressure and had been on life support for three days before her family made the difficult decision to remove it.
Jenna took to her Instagram Story to express her sadness over the loss. She shared two photos of Lisa in character as Wednesday and wrote, “Absolutely devastated. Thank you for everything.”

In an episode of the Netflix series, “Wednesday,” Jenna Ortega paid homage to Lisa Loring’s iconic Wednesday by incorporating her iconic shuffle from the TV series into her dance, which has become a social media phenomenon since the Netflix series premiered in November.
