On Friday January 13th 2023, actress Sadie Sink made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The young star, who rose to fame with her role as Max in the hit show “Stranger Things,” discussed her new movie “The Whale” and reminisced about her past roles. One of the highlights of the show was when Jimmy Fallon pulled up a video of a 9-year-old Sadie Sink performing “Tomorrow” from the musical “Annie.” The audience was delighted by the young actress’ impressive vocals, and Sadie couldn’t help but laugh and blush at the throwback clip.
Sadie also talked about her background in musical theater and how her family would put on productions at home. She even admitted to being embarrassed about her behavior during quarantine, when she and her family put on a home production of “Cats” the musical at the age of 18.
Of course, the conversation wouldn’t be complete without discussing “Stranger Things.” Sadie spoke about her character Max in the show and what she hopes to see happen in the highly-anticipated fifth season. Fans of the show will no doubt be excited to see what lies in store for Max and the rest of the gang.
Sadie also discussed her role in the film “The Whale” where she co-stars with Brendan Fraser. She described the plot of the movie, where a reclusive English teacher named Charlie, who has been spiraling into a deep depression after losing the love of his life, and the movie is set during what is likely the last week of his life, He attempts to reconnect with his daughter whom he had left when she was around 10 years old. She talked about how much she enjoyed working on the film and how much she learned from the experience.
