Sadie Sink, best known for her role as Max in Stranger Things, is heading back to Broadway in an exciting new play, John Proctor Is the Villain. Written by Kimberly Belflower, this play offers a fresh take on Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, setting the story in a rural Georgia high school and diving into themes of youth, love, and scandal.
For Sadie, this marks a return to the stage, her first Broadway role since her performances in Annie (2012-14) and The Audience (2015). Directed by Tony Award winner Danya Taymor, who recently received praise for The Outsiders, the production reexamines who the true ‘villain’ is within The Crucible‘s narrative, giving the classic work a modern twist.
The play will run at the Booth Theatre, with previews starting on March 20, 2025, and opening night set for April 14, 2025. This role is another exciting step in Sadie Sink’s career, blending her Broadway roots with the popularity she’s gained on screen.
