Trevor Noah has addressed the racially insensitive responses that have been received to the new trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

The host of “The Daily Show” played a clip from a news segment about people complaining on the internet about the film because it stars actress Halle Bailey on the episode that aired on Thursday.

The Little Mermaid is scheduled to be made available to the public on May 26th, 2023.

Positive reactions to the trailer have outnumbered negative reactions, demonstrating how important representation is. Just scroll on TikTok for five minutes and you are sure to see a few.
