Peacock has released the official trailer for “Crystal Lake,” the upcoming “Friday the 13th” prequel series from A24, and horror fans won’t have to wait long to return to Camp Crystal Lake. All eight episodes of the first season will premiere on Peacock on October 15, 2026.
The series stars Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees, the grieving mother at the heart of the franchise’s mythology. Set in 1971, nearly a year after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake, the story follows single mother Pam as she struggles to shake her grief. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?
The new trailer, the most extensive look at the series yet, charts Pam’s transformation from grieving mother to something far more dangerous. As her grief and rage escalate, Pam goes from serving up meals as a camp lunch lady to serving up kills for those who wronged her and her son. And fans of the legendary franchise can rest assured: A24 and Peacock aren’t shying away from the summer-camp scares and gore that made the original films iconic.
“Crystal Lake” is created, written, and executive produced by Brad Caleb Kane (“It: Welcome to Derry”), with directing duties divided among Michael Lennox, Celine Held and Logan George, and Quyen Tran. Alongside Cardellini, the cast includes Callum Vinson as young Jason Voorhees, William Catlett as Officer Levon Brooks, Devin Kessler as Brooks’ journalist sister Brianna, plus Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom.
The series marks the first television prequel of the “Friday the 13th” franchise, following 1987’s “Friday the 13th: The Series,” and will tell the origin story of Pamela and Jason Voorhees across an eight-episode first season. “Crystal Lake” premieres October 15 on Peacock, and watch the official trailer above.
