Sesame Street’s Elmo Receives His First COVID Vaccination In New Public Service Announcement

NOTE: This article is 2 months old and may not include the most recent information.

In a new PSA released by Sesame Workshop, the organization behind the popular Sesame Street, everyone’s favorite lovable red monster, Elmo received his first COVID vaccination. In the video released Tuesday, Elmo is seen with his father as they discuss getting the shot. The PSA also reassures parents that it is OK to have questions about the vaccination for their youngsters and to seek advice from their pediatrician.

“Many parents understandably have questions about the COVID-19 vaccines for young children, and we want to encourage them to ask questions and seek out information,” Dr. Jeanette Betancourt, SVP of U.S. social impact at Sesame Workshop, said in a statement. “With help from Elmo and his dad Louie, we want to model real conversations, encourage parents’ questions, and help children know what to expect.”
