‘West Side Story’ Star Rachel Zegler Says She Wasn’t Invited To The Oscars

NOTE: This article is 7 months old and may not include the most recent information.

Rachel Zegler revealed on Instagram on Sunday that despite her film ‘West Side Story’ being nominated for Best Picture, she wasn’t invited to attend the Oscars. Zegler says she will root for the film to take home the honor though. The actor is currently filming Disney’s live-action ‘Snow White’.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed how nominees are usually treated.

Each nominee and presenter is offered a pair of tickets. Other tickets come out of allotments given to each studio, although the Academy not infrequently finds additional tickets for VIPs who wish to attend.

The news that Rachel Zegler would not be attending the ceremony was shared in a reply to a fan’s comment on Instagram who was looking forward to seeing what she would be wearing.

“i’m not invited so sweatpants and my boyfriend’s flannel.”

“I hope some last minute miracle occurs and i can celebrate our film in person but hey, that’s how it goes sometimes, i guess.”
